Thursday, April 3: Erin's Law Lesson in Advisory Classes
This year, our Advisory classes are teaching Erin's Law lessons. Erin’s Law requires public schools to provide a minimum of four child sexual abuse prevention education lessons a year for children in pre-kindergarten through high school. This Thursday, April 3, the Advisory lesson will be about sexual assault prevention. If you would like to excuse your child from this instruction, please complete this form and return it to the school.

Sophomores:

All sophomores will have the opportunity to take the PreACT

Juniors:

Juniors will have the option to opt in to one of the following testing options.

  • The digital SAT will be offered for free to juniors who opt in by Friday, April 4th. The SAT is a standardized test that some colleges use for admissions and financial aid purposes.

  • The digital ASVAB will be offered to juniors and seniors who opt in and who do not choose from one of the other testing day options.  The ASVAB is a career inventory aptitude test designed to help young people explore their options and plan for a career after graduation.  There are two versions of the test, one given to HS students and the other used for military entrance purposes.  Scores and student information will NOT be released to any branch of the US Armed Services by CHS.  Students have the choice to do so if they wish.  For more information, you can go to the ASVAB Career Exploration Program Website.

  • All testing options will begin at 8:30 am. Room assignments will be communicated closer to the test date.

Seniors:

Seniors will have several options they will need to opt-in to on this day.

  • The ASVAB - See info above

  • STAMP Testing will be offered to qualified 4J students. It is an online, real-world language proficiency test. Students demonstrating proficiency on this multi-pronged assessment will meet one of two requirements for the Oregon State Seal of Bi/Multiliteracy. Please check with Karen Rengifo, English Language Development Teacher, to see if you qualify.
