Churchill Families,
It has been another great week at Churchill! Winter sports are in full swing. Last weekend, the Lancer Dome was packed as the wrestling team hosted their tournament. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making it a success! The girl's basketball team traveled to Bend for a tournament and will host Marist tonight on the hardwood. The boys' basketball team lost their first game at South but has been on a winning streak ever since. Additionally, the swim team has a meet today at Echo Hollow against Thurston, Crater, and Ashland at 3:00 PM. Go Lancers!

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, come down to our yard sale in the cafeteria on the 14th from 9 AM to 2 PM and on the 15th from 9 AM to 3 PM. The proceeds will go towards the winter cheer drive to help families in need this winter season. Enjoy shopping for goods donated by Churchill families to support a good cause! You may also want to come watch the Staff vs. Student Basketball game on Saturday night at 7:00 PM. I was planning to showcase my skills, but I want the students to have their chance. It’s sure to be a fun time for everyone!

Next week will be busy. We will have a winter spirit week with dress-up days and various events throughout the week. The Band and Choir will perform their Winter Concert on Tuesday, and we will wrap up several fundraisers, including our canned food drive. If you can, please think about donating; it all supports our fellow Lancers.

Seniors' parents, please remind your students to submit their yearbook photos and order their caps and gowns! Graduation is right around the corner.

Go, Lancers!

Counselor Corner
Seniors:  FAFSA and OSAC called and they are waiting for your applications! Who doesn't like the chance for FREE money?! Winter break may be just the time you've needed to get those applications completed. Even if you are thinking of taking a gap year, joining the military, or going straight to full-time work - fill out your FAFSA and OSAC. If you don't go to college right after high school, then you don't need to use the money. But if at the last second, you decide, "Hey! I think I actually might like to go to LCC/PSU (or wherever)," you won't have missed your chance for that $$$.

If you need help completing FAFSA, over winter break: https://www.nasfaa.org/fafsa_tips

Our offices will be closed until January 7. Take advantage of next week to talk to your counselor, ask questions, gather resources, and request transcripts. OSAC GPAs will be verified by CHS so you won't need to upload a transcript. For college applications, you can request transcripts through Naviance. Instructions on how to request transcripts can be found here:  https://blogs.4j.lane.edu/houck_s/college-application-process/.
