March is Women’s Her-Story Month

Faiza Mohammed al-Kharafi taught and became department chair of Kuwait University’s Department of Chemistry. In 1933 she became President of Kuwait University and the first woman to lead a major university in the Middle east. Her work consisted of various technological systems and she was Vice-President of the World Academy of Sciences.

Next Step Electronics Recycling Competition

Drop off your old electronics in front of STEM 105 to help CHS compete in an electronic recycling competition. This includes old laptops, phones, phone chargers, and more.

Student of the Month

Congratulations to our nominees for Student of the Month. The Applied and Fine Arts department nominated 8 students who have shown academic excellence throughout their high school career. Congratulations to the following: Shae Brodsky, Gwynne Willis, Noah Oristano, MJ Andrews, Brady Bidwell, Sabrina Zhang, Dakota Harris, and Aravis Jones.

Tri. 3 Schedule Change Deadline

Today is the last day for a schedule change request for this trimester. Changes are only made if there is an error with your schedule. Please attend the classes on your schedule, not the classes you are hoping for. Continue to check your StudentVue and 4j email until the change is made.

Student-Athletes

All students who are participating in school sports are required by OSAA to be enrolled in and passing 2.0 credits for both the trimester before your sport AND the trimester during your sport. This affects athletes for all spring sports — AND next year’s fall sports. If you are not scheduled for 2.0 credits during both of those trimesters, use the Schedule Correction form to add enough classes for you to meet this participation requirement.

CHS Intramural Volleyball

Churchill’s very own March Madness… In April! We will be hosting an intramural volleyball tournament during lunch on April 10–14. Team sign-ups are happening this week during lunch at the planters. Grab some friends and sign up to compete. Free! There will be a prize for the winning team. Luck? You don’t need luck, you trained for this!
